About Susan Hoffmann

Susan began her career as an artist while doing art therapy during her long recuperation following major brain surgery. Since that time, she has been recognized locally, nationally and internationally, winning numerous awards in juried prestigious art exhibits. Her goal as an artist is to make the viewer marvel at the beauty of her native Louisiana, even while it is undergoing decline due to the forces of nature and economic change. A native and resident of Thibodaux, Louisiana she is Cajun by heritage and often her works echo this culture. She works mainly in Intaglio and watercolor and has series of plantations, local flora and cuisine, cypress swamps, and New Orleans garden district homes.
